Engine Test bed up and running!

While the URE04 is still under construction, the engine is being fine-tuned at the engine test bed at the moment. With increased compression ratio, a balanced crankshaft and modified camshaft the team is aiming to increase the engine’s power substantially.

Although we won’t give any exact figures yet, we can reveal that the engine is already considerably more powerful than last year, especially at low rpm.

URE goes Stuttgart!

Together with one of our partners, Brace Automotive, the team is going to the Engine Expo 2008 – Stuttgart. The team is proud to represent it self at one of the largest vehicle exhibitions in the world, showing what we’re doing here at the TU/e.

The exhibition will be held from the 6th till the 8th of May 2008.

Toyota F1

In corporation with Studium Generale, URE organized a lecture at the TU/e campus by Jos de Boes, sales and sports conversion manager at Toyota F1.

In front of 100 interested people, Jos spoke about the influences of the F1 in civilian car development and about the general marketing at Toyota F1. After the lecture, Jos spend another 30 minutes answering many questions by curious students who wanted to know every single detail of Formula1.

The new motorhome

While the new car, the URE04, is still under development, people are working hard on our new motorhome. Due to a reorganization at the faculty, our motorhome has to move to another location, this time next to our workshop.
