A few months ago, professor Fujii from the University of Doshisha (Japan) visited us and was impressed by the way we work. He invited 2 team members (Bart Niessen and Paulus Potter) to come to Japan and give a presentation about our team, for the University’s FSAE race team.
They visit Japan from 2nd September till 17th September. Currently, the race in Japan has just finished. Bart and Paulus explain:
“It’s amazing to see such a different culture and also very different cars compared to the European competition. We think the top 5 could compete in our competitions, but it has to be said: the European competition is more competitive”.
As for the Doshisha’s University race team (Doshisha University Formula Project, or DUFP) they did quite ok until the endurance. Every event, both static and dynamic, were 12th place in rank. Unfortunately, the throttle cable jammed during the second driver’s round at the endurance. The team ended up 25th.
Bart and Paulus will go to Kyoto on Sunday and will give the presentation on Tuesday at the University in Kyoto.
