On Tuesday the 12th of January 2010 the tragic news has reached University Racing Eindhoven that our Engineering Manager and dear friend, Sven van Tilburg, has passed away.

Sven was manager of our team since September 2009. He was responsible for the design of the car of the 2009-2010 season. Also he was strongly involved in the development of the first electric driven race car, which will make its debut on the European tracks this season. The designs of both cars have been presented last Tuesday (19th of January 2010) to large audience present. Unfortunately Sven could not witness this presentation.

We will remember Sven as our friend, appreciated Manager and team member.

University Racing Eindhoven has won the Audi Contest Formula Student electric 2010 with their concept of the URE05e! Representatives of URE convinced the judges at Audi AG that the URE05e concept is the best one of all teams that competed in the contest.

URE and five other teams were invited to the finals in Ingolstadt at the headquarters of Audi AG to present their electric concepts to the judges. Only the winner and the runner-up received a money cheque.

Winning the Audi Contest Formula Student electric 2010 gives us a lot of confidence in our freshly presented concept. We will be working hard to build a real car from this winning concept in the next couple of months.

This evening the design of both the URE05e & the URE06 have been revealed on the Eindhoven University of Technology. Months of hard work have gone into fine tuning, improving and developing components for both cars.
With these designs URE will prepare themselves for the coming events in England and Germany.
