URE has produced its first kevlar products. The body panels of the electric URE05e are made of kevlar instead of carbon fiber. Kevlar has been chosen as the material to use because it better withstands collisions with cones or small stones than carbon fiber does.

The kevlar body panels are easily recognized by their characteristic yellow color. However, when the car will be finished the yellow color will not be visible anymore.

In tradition with our previous seasons URE organized the 2009-2010 sponsor day. During this day we thanked our sponsors for their support during this season and offered them an activity which gave them the chance to drive a virtual URE car. The fastest five drivers will be rewarded with a spectacular ride in the URE05e at the end of the season.

Not only a virtual URE race car has been driven, but our sponsors were also given the opportunity to have a look at the development and production of our full electric URE05e.

With the disassembly of the URE05 the conversion process of the car to the electric URE05e has begun and components as the battery pack will be produced in the period to come.
