Safety of our drivers is of vital importance for us. This is why URE has brand new driver suits. These suits are FIA certified and are have our logos on so that our drivers are easy recognizable for the audience present.

On the 9th of June 2010 the electric URE05e will be revealed to the public. After months of hard work and preparing, the first electric formula car of the Benelux can officially be presented. This presentation will be held during the 7th International Automotive Congress at the High Tech Automotive Campus, Helmond.

The program of the presentation is as follows:

Attendance is free of charge. However, registration for this event is required and can be done via universityracing@tue.nl until the 18th of May 2010.

It’s here: the URE Van. This Iveco Daily supports us tremendously in the transportation of our equipment for testing days and races for example.

With the stickers applied to it, the van will be easy recognizable on the highway as well as on the campus.

The car for the 2010-2011 season, URE06, is partially being developed by URE. The milled moulds of the monocoque for the URE06 have finally entered our workshop in Eindhoven. The design of the monocoque of the URE06 already has been made during this 2009-2010 season as production of the monocoque will take place this season. The URE06 monocoque has been improved by removing the integrated head support and is easier to manufacture.

The milled moulds will now be laminated to create a negative mould. In this negative mould we then can laminate the final product: the URE06 monocoque.

Finally, the rear tubular space frame of the URE05e is nearing completion. The URE05 frame of the previous season has been modified to fit the electric powertrain and will still have the advantage of the easy accessibility of the power and drivetrain.

After applying a powder coating the suspension can be mounted, as well as the components for the electric powertrain including all the safety switches required for the Formula Student Electric competition.
